Master Jewelry Designer, Porcelain Artist and Textile Designer, Suzan Benzle Boutz, brings a unique background to the study and illustration of the bible. The culmination of two decades of study and five years in the making, Symbols of Faith jewelry is a collection of wearable art to commemorate the Lord's message to his people.

The Lord said to Moses, "Speak to the peole of Israel, and tell them to make tassels on the corners of their garments throughout their generations, and to put a cord of blue on the tassel of each corner. And it shall be a tassel for you to look at and remember all the commandments of the lord." -Numbers 15:37-29 (ESV)

Symbols of Faith was designed to be worn and recall the grace and responsibility the Lord has given us. Each unique symbol in the Symbols of Faith collection offers a wonderful opportunity to share your faith with others; a Symbol given as a gift is a way to commemorate a special occasion such as a Baptism, Birthday or a Wedding. A Symbols of faith bracelet can also create the perfect opportunity to start a caring conversation with someone in need of a helping hand, and to kindle a friends faith at a time of trouble.

While studying the Book of Exodus, detailing the building of the Tabernacle and the Ark of the Covenant, Suzan's background as an artist and craftsmen took on new importance on her life as an artist when she encountered God's word, "Moreover, I have given special skill to all the gifted craftsmen so they can make all the things I have commanded you to make." -Exodus 31:5-6 (NLT) God's special gift of skill was not given only to artists of the Tabernacle but to contemporary artists as well. This revelation was the beginning of Symbols of Faith.

In Old Testament times the silversmith used a refining fire to create molten metal; he then was able to skim off the impurities that rose to the top, causing the silver to take on a new mirror like brilliance. Light that radiates from refined sterling silver and sparkling rainbow crystals used in Symbols of Faith jewelry is a metaphor for the new life that surface in us as God's work is manifested in his people.

In the beginning, Suzan combed through scripture searching for practical answers to many of life's challenges, using a small Bible, a personal journal and a thirst for God's word. Now, many years later, and with the onset of the computer age, scripture is collected from many Bible version and organized by scripture topic. Each topic and the collection of scriptures are printed in a colorful keepsake booklet which accompanies each Symbol of Faith it represents. There are over 50 Sterling Silver and Swarvoski Crystal Symbols of Faith pieces to choose from, well-known verses and some surprise verses are represented. Each Symbol is designed to be worn on a necklace or the classic keepsake bracelet, where many symbols can be added.
